One Month New

A baby celebrated his one month birthday recently.  I spent some time this afternoon at the grandfather's house near Waxahachie, Texas, taking photographs of the family.

Happy birthday, little guy!

Girls Weekend

My cousin, Missy, visited from Alabama this weekend, and we've had a blast.  I think everything that could be done in three days was done, and now it's almost time for her to fly back home.  When she arrived on Thursday, we did lunch at Breadwinner's on Lovers Lane, followed by a little shopping, and then a trip to the mothership of grocery stores, Central Market.  Afterwards, we headed to my house so that she could meet and bond with Rose.  It didn't take long...maybe five seconds.  Posie is a pushover for attention, as we all know.
We finished up the day with Mexican food for dinner, and then hit the sack so that we could get some rest prior to our big day on Friday.  The giant flea market in Canton awaited!  First Monday, as it's called, is always a treat.  I have good friends there, and it's such a pleasure to see them!  Here are a few of my favorite shots.
Here's Missy with my dear friend, Fred.  He and his wife, Peggy, own Willows at Home, a very cool shop with wonderful things for your home.  We missed seeing Peggy and Moe, their sweet little shop dog, as they were at home.

Here's Willie, who loves to listen to gospel music. I've met him once before, and he's always good for a pose or two.
I thought Canton might be less busy on a Friday, as opposed to the weekend, but I was wrong!

There were lots of cowgirls out and about!
Missy guarded our shopping cart, while I continued to shop!

A trip to First Monday wouldn't be the same without visiting Girls Gone Junkin!"  They always have beautiful things for sale...and there's a whole lot of creativity going on there.  It's my personal preference for the best shopping there!

Rose was happy to see us get back from Canton, because I always bring her a turkey leg.  It lasts her several days, minimum!
We spent Saturday morning at the original Neiman-Marcus in downtown Dallas.  Lots of shopping fun, followed by lunch at the Zodiac Room.  Once fortified, we drove on to NorthPark Mall, so we could shop a little more.

We finished off the day at Texas Land & Cattle in Rockwall, dining outside overlooking the lake, as a huge full moon rose over it.  Such a great time!  Thanks for visiting, Missy!  Come back again soon!
